Slash pile burning is occurring in Best township today (Friday Nov 15). There was some slash pile burning in Best township yesterday. The plan is to burn slash piles in Firstbrook township during the weekend, provided that the weather conditions permit. Firstbrook is outside of n’Daki Menan and within the Temagami Forest, see attached maps.

Notice of Nominations Meeting and Notice of By-Election

November 14, 2024 By Temagami First Nation

Kwe kwe
TFN Chief and Council were determined to hold our by-election as soon as possible, with the initial dates set to meet that goal. However, after the Appeals Council ordered another by-election, we reviewed the timelines in our constitution and saw that an early freeze up could interfere with the election process.

Our top priority is to ensure members have a fair and safe chance to participate. To avoid issues with weather, Chief and Council agreed to set the by-election date for Saturday, January 25, 2025, when these risks are lower.

Please see the Notice of Nominations Meeting and Notice of By-Election attached.
