Public Safety Notice: Rabbit Lake log lifter testing July 20
Teme Augama Anishinabek Lands & Resources would like to distribute the following safety message to community members:
Teme Augama Anishinabek has been notified that on Monday, July 20, 2026 there will be testing performed on the log lifter at the OPG’s Rabbit Lake Dam, on the Matabitchuan River. The testing will result in a temporary increase in water levels and flows on the Matabitchuan River downstream of Rabbit Lake Dam.
Levels and flows are expected to return to normal once testing is completed. The testing is not expected to impact prescribed compliance limits.
Residents are urged to use caution around these areas as the increase in flows from Rabbit Lake Dam and Matabitchuan GS will produce strong currents and increase water levels during this time.
