Please be advised that the Infrastructure Department will be Flushing Fire Hydrants.
Residents affected will be those connected to the water treatment plant.
When: Tuesday, October 19th, 2021
Hydrants are flushed periodically as part of our maintenance program. It is necessary to:
- maintain the integrity of the water system
- remove sediment from the water mains
- verify the proper operation of the hydrants and valves
- maintain fire fighting capability
Residents can experience:
- a drop-in water pressure while the hydrants are being flushed
- you may experience discolouration
Although the water remains safe to drink, please run your cold water until it runs clear again.
